ABOUT US
Our journey of radical hope and systemic change
It is not enough to say educational inequality - we call this inequity. Our blended research of ages 17 - 55 estimates ¾ of the UK population would have an overall negative educational experience. Over 285 million young people currently are out of education (14% of the youth population) and already existing inequalities have only increased since COVID-19. Less is spent on each student every year. This costs each pupil in the UK £5,000 in lost education.
Everyone deserves accessible, meaningful and inclusive education - and we're here to change that.
Our Impact
The impact we have made in our community
Since founding in February 2024, we have worked across the UK to make a sustainable and meaningful impact in education. From our events with our community, to the famous TEDx stage, to the classrooms, we have continued to ensure a collective, movement-building approach in the education space.
Education can change.
Every penny counts and helps us bring hope and essential support to every young person, parent/carer/supporter and educational staff we work with.

Young Founders Pitch Night (Special Edition of Brighton Soup)
Pitch Night - 26 September 2025 – Community Base This was a special edition of BrightonSoup, in collaboration with YouthTheGap and WildPurpose, and supported by the Enjoolata Foundation. For this event we shone a spotlight on young changemakers shaping the future. We aimed for an inspiring evening all about giving space, voice, and support to young founders—whether they’re launching a start-up, growing a side hustle, developing a passion project, or simply at the early idea stage. And that’s exactly what we got! Why did we do it? This event challenges narrow definitions of youth and recognises that innovation doesn’t have an age limit. By extending the youth bracket to age 30, we acknowledge the reality that many aspiring entrepreneurs in their late twenties still face barriers to access and opportunity. This is about disrupting age bias while fostering intergenerational connection—because movements grow stronger when we build together. We had delicious soup, great conversation, meaningful pitches, and the chance to support the next wave of socially conscious founders. People came to pitch, listen, vote, and connect, part of a powerful, grassroots evening that celebrated ideas and the people behind them. Come hungry for change. Leave full of hope. We’re very confident we will be doing that again, but in the meantime, we will be holding our regular events.

Beyond The Red Dot (Fundraising Tour - Brighton & London)
BEYOND THE RED DOT 🔴 YouthTheGap X BOXPARK SHOREDITCH This year, YouthTheGap partnered with TEDxBrighton to challenge the theme of “Planet Hope.” However, this left us with the burning question: “What are we to do beyond the iconic ‘red dot’?” TEDxBrighton 2025 On June 26th, we launched our fundraising tour at Brighton University, dissecting key concepts, knowledge and how we understand systems of oppression to operate, to spark hope and social change on a local lens collectively. On July 23rd, YouthTheGap extended their fundraising tour to take on the streets of London to call the community in to be an active participant in the social discourse, foster knowledge exchange and intergenerational dialogue. We are proud to have partnered with “Edge Of Difference”, “City Girl Network”, “The Phoenix Way”, “Brighton University”, “Found & Flourish” and “OURPPLS” to not just simply ‘hope’ for a better world, but to come together to disrupt the system that is working EXACTLY as it’s designed to. And, we are particularly grateful to have partnered with BoxPark, who transformed their space with us to fundraise for “SistahSpace” - a multi-award-winning charity who have been a 10-year lifeline for Black women and families of African and Caribbean heritage, offering support, resources, and hope to survivors of domestic abuse.
